Community action agencies are often governmental agencies or non-profit organizations that are designed to do one thing or to bring about one action. Different community action agencies are designed to bring about different actions in a community. Some community action agencies are governmental agencies that are put together in order to help develop a certain area or to redevelop a certain area. Many urban renewal agencies are community action agencies.
